Further Positive Covid-19 case in Years 1/2
Dear Parent/ Carer of pupils in years 1 & 2,
Please find above a letter from Paul Laycock, Headteacher, regarding a positive Covid-19 case in class 1/2DF. Whilst this is not your child's class, we felt it important to inform you as this is the second positive case in year 1/2 within 7 days and the classes within these two year groups mix for phonics sessions.
The school remains open and your child should continue to attend if they remain well, however we would strongly urge you to follow the guidance issued by CYC (detailed in the attached letter), and test your child at home on a daily basis using an LFT, for at least 10 days, even if they do not have symptoms. If your child has symptoms detailed in the attached letter your child is required to have a PCR test and self-isolate until the test result is known to be negative, even if their LFT tests are negative.
Public Health England have produced a letter for schools to distribute to parents which explains when a person requires a coronavirus test and what the symptoms of coronavirus are. The intention of the letter is to help prevent children being taken out of school unnecessarily and answer some of the questions parents may have around testing.
