PTA Christmas Present Room
We are delighted to be holding our annual Christmas Present Room for our pupils on Thursday 8th December during school hours only.
It's a really popular event where all the children have the opportunity to choose a gift for whomever they wish. The PTA spend the whole year buying and then wrapping presents that we hope you will enjoy on Christmas Day from your child. However, this pool of gifts is not bottomless and we really want to ensure that every child from Reception to Year 6 (nearly 250 children) will have the opportunity to make you smile.
Children can bring their money into school, preferably in a named pursed/ wallet or envelope. There is a maximum £5 cap per child to avoid disappointing children when the presents have all gone and they miss out - so please do not send your child with any more than this.
Gifts will range from 50p to £4.
All children will be supported by teachers, older children and committee members to make their choices and manage their money. They will bring their gift home at the end of the day.
Any further queries please email us at pta.wiggintonprimary@gmail.com .

Monitoring Attendance Levels in Schools- Information for Parents/ Carers
Please find below information from York City Council regarding attendance. This is a key priority for the Local Authority this year and, as such, they will be monitoring attendance in all schools very closely. Should there be a cause for concern with a child's attendance, meetings will be organised to look at what support can be put in place. There will also be Fixed Penalty Notices issued if attendance is below 90%, including unauthorised absences such as holidays.
Please read the letter and related leaflet, which provides more detail. Attendance at Wigginton Primary School is historically very good. I am sure that this will continue to be the case.
The School Age Immunisation Service will be visiting your child’s school on 17th November 2022 to deliver the nasal spray flu vaccine.

Further Positive Covid-19 case in Years 1/2
Dear Parent/ Carer of pupils in years 1 & 2,
Please find above a letter from Paul Laycock, Headteacher, regarding a positive Covid-19 case in class 1/2DF. Whilst this is not your child's class, we felt it important to inform you as this is the second positive case in year 1/2 within 7 days and the classes within these two year groups mix for phonics sessions.
The school remains open and your child should continue to attend if they remain well, however we would strongly urge you to follow the guidance issued by CYC (detailed in the attached letter), and test your child at home on a daily basis using an LFT, for at least 10 days, even if they do not have symptoms. If your child has symptoms detailed in the attached letter your child is required to have a PCR test and self-isolate until the test result is known to be negative, even if their LFT tests are negative.
