Wigginton Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic level 2 teaching assistant to work in one of our Key Stage 2 classes and to undertake an HLTA role across school covering for PPA time.  The successful candidate will join a strong team of teaching assistants that support individuals and groups of students with learning and/or emotional and social needs, as well as working alongside the teachers to cover PPA.  Previous experience of working with SEN children 1:1 is essential and it is vital that candidates have a commitment to a child-centred approach, a willingness to learn and develop, along with enthusiasm and a good sense of humour!  Experience of teaching classes is also required.

The working pattern is:

 

TA2: 8.45am – 3.15pm on Monday, Tuesday with a half hour lunch break; 8.45am – 12.30pm Thursday and Friday

 

HLTA: 8.45am - 3:15pm Wednesday and 1:00pm - 3:15pm Thursday and Friday

 

There may be the possibility of extending the HLTA role for further cover.

 

The contract would commence 1 September 2019 and initially be for one academic year.

2 Midday Supervisory Assistants

6.25 hours per week (11.50am – 1.05pm, term time only)

Permanent – Part-time (6.25 hours per week) Term Time Only

 

Salary: Grade 2 (£16,302 per annum comprising of basic pay plus living wage supplement) reduced pro-rata (works out at £8.45 per hour).


We are offering two posts 6.25 hours per week for Midday Supervisory Assistant during term time. The hours are Monday to Friday one and quarter hours cover over the lunch time period.

The successful candidates would be expected to carry out duties during the children’s lunchtime break including supervising in the playground and the dining hall, taking care of all their needs including the minor injuries, falls and their general welfare during the lunch break. You will provide play, direction and supervision of activities in the playground to ensure that the whole lunchtime experience can be enjoyed in a safe and calm environment
